ABOUT ME

With a unique background encompassing theatre, music, broadcasting and performance, Evans brings a breadth of vision, knowledge and experience to the Arts. The scope of Mr. Haile’s career encompasses producing, hosting, and storytelling while at the same time being internationally recognized as a creative performing artist in his own right.
He has been the host and producer of over 30 Public Radio specials, heard on over 200 stations nationwide.
He has been profiled on CBS Sunday morning, as well as having appeared on NPR's "Performance Today", "Weekend Edition" and "Fresh Air".
Under his tenure as Producing Artistic Director of the historic Cape Playhouse, (America's Oldest Professional Summer Theatre), the NY Times said the Playhouse was "where Broadway goes to vacation", and the Boston Globe raved about the "consistent Broadway caliber Productions."
He has been a regular guest conductor of many international orchestras and opera companies including the Boston Pops, the orchestra of the Deutsche Opera Am Rhein, the Baltimore Symphony, the Moscow Philharmonic to name a few.
At Lincoln Center he produced and created the new performing editions of Villa-Lobos" "Magdalena", Cole Porters "Fifty Million Frenchmen", and Rodgers and Harts "Babes in Arms". (All recorded for either Sony Classical, or New World Records)
In 2009 he was the Interim Producing Artistic Director, re-opening the shuttered North Shore Music Theatre, creating the new infrastructure, programming, and overseeing the details of every production.
As a performer, he has toured the country as host, storyteller, and pianist. He believes his most important mission is as an active advocate for the Arts. The Arts and Culture are a reminder of who we are, from where we have come, and where we are going.
